Sometimes you need to get out of town. Had a great time in the country with much better views from a good friend’s front porch. Out west of Houston in the small Texas town of Pattison.
There are two grazers and a roller out enjoying themselves in a sunny pasture in Stafford, Texas.
Congratulations to five year old lady BEHOLDER who absolutely smoked all the boys in her 8 1/4 length win in the $1 Million TVG Pacific Classic Stakes at Del Mar on August 22nd. Her win gives her a 2nd berth to a Breeders Cup Championship Race, October 30-31, 2015 at Keeneland.
AND Don’t forget to mark your calendars ! – Triple Crown Winner – AMERICAN PHAROAH is heading to Saratoga NY for the 146th Travers Stakes Race on Saturday Aug. 29th. The Travers will go to post at 5:46 pm ET. The Grade 1 race is 1 1/4 miles for 3 Yr. Olds on the Dirt and has a $1.6 Million Purse this year. The draw for post positions is Tuesday Aug. 25th at 5 pm ET. Watch him run on NBC-Tv !

Wharton is a city in Wharton County, Texas, sixty miles southwest of Houston. Population was 8,832 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Wharton County and is located on the Colorado River of Texas just south of U.S. Highway 59 . The area now known as Wharton was part of the Caney Run mail route established by the Republic of Texas in 1838. The community was named after two leaders in the struggle for Texas independence, brothers John and William Wharton. The plantation community was first settled in 1846 by some of Stephen F. Austin’s original colonists, and a post office was established in 1847. The first lieutenant governor of Texas, Albert Horton, was an early settler. Land for a courthouse named Monterey Square was given from the land grant of William Kincheloe, one of Stephen F. Austin’s Old 300 colonists who settled in this area in 1822.
The Hockley, Texas community is surrounded by grain farms and cattle ranches and is about thirty-six miles northwest of Downtown Houston. The Army of THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS camped near the original settlement in April 1836.                  Â

Missouri City is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, within Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. The city is mostly in Fort Bend County, with a small portion in Harris County. The area in which Missouri City is now located holds a significant part in the history of Texas that dates back to its early days as part of the United States.
Tomball, Texas is in northern Harris County, about 28 miles northwest of Downtown Houston on Highway 249. Population was 11,124 in 2013.
